Helpful Online Resources

Aside from flash cards, this site exists to provide other avenues for study information. Occasionally concepts or topics may be presented in a vague manner, and finding the correct answer can prove to be difficult. WebMD and Wikipedia only go so far after all.

J.B. Clark was kind enough to put together a few helpful links that may further aid our learning of various pharmacy material. The links will also be posted on the right side of this page at all times, so if you ever need to access them they will be readily available.

Combing through sites like PubMed, while informative, can be tedious.  Cochrane Summaries is a good alternative and/or starting point in place of these types of sites. While not possessing the sheer wealth of information you may find on other resources, for many topics it provides a handful of clear and concise articles without having to rummage through page after page of results.

Run into an abbreviation you do not know or do not remember? Instead of flipping through a textbook or attempting to Google it, merely type it into the search box on this site for a quick, and correct, definition.

We don't always have access to MICROMEDEX or UpToDate, and often finding clear and quick descriptions of drugs can be difficult. Online Drug Information System provides clear answers to basic answers regarding virtually any drug you can imagine. Again, this site provides a good starting pointing or a resource for a quick answer without having to sift through mounds of data.

New to pharmacy and want a way to learn the most popular drugs on the go? There's no better option than a podcast. Going over the 200 most popular drugs on the market, this resource provides an option for quickly and accurately identifying a drug without having to consult our mountains of notes.

If anyone has any other links or suggestions, feel free to contact us either via comment here, on our Facebook page or e-mail.

Flash Cards For Your Mobile Device

The following lists apps for your mobile device that will allow you to use the flash cards we have created. Some are pay apps, some have trials and some are free.

All appear to work well, but we would greatly appreciate feedback if you use said app.  As of this posting we know that FlashCards++ and BrebsFlash work quite well. When each app is confirmed as working properly, it will be noted.

The apps are as follows listed by device/OS:

iPhone/iPod/iPad

Android

BlackBerry

I've download the app... now what? - Finding and downloading the flashcards themselves are quite easy. All of our flashcards are tagged "buckypharmd", and one of the ways you can search for flashcards is by tags. Merely search for this term and only the Bucky Pharm Study flash cards will show up.

And start studying! It's as simple as that.

Note: If we update the flashcards on the Exchange website, they will not update on your device. You will have to re-download them to your device. We shall do our best to notify everyone when there are sizable changes to a card set so you will always have the most current and accurate cards to study from.
